After 22 seasons on the air, hit Canadian／American animated TV series Arthur surprised even the Esmale office this week by featuring a same-sex male marriage!
The episode in question, Mr. Ratburn and the Special Someone, saw the teacher of the eight year old aardvark Arthur Read, get married with Arthur, along with other pupils and teachers, in attendance.
Expecting Mr. Ratburn to wed a female character called Patty; the guests were surprised to see Patty as his sister, and even more surprised when Mr. Ratburn married a man!
Arthur is broadcast daily in the U.K. on CBBC at 07:00 with select episodes on BBC iPlayer.
